A 54-year-old Belgian diver died in an accident on Sunday afternoon in the Dutch Veerse Meer lagoon, near the village of Wolphaartsdijk, Het Laatste Nieuws reports.
Police say that the man died as a result of a “medical incident.” The man apparently felt unwell at around 13:45 after going into the lake.
Rescuers, as well as several passers-by, tried to resuscitate the victim, but to no avail.
