A body was discovered on Saturday afternoon in King Baudouin Park in the Brussels municipality of Jette, BX1 reports. The news has since been confirmed by local police officials.
The body was found on Saturday morning beside one of the park's ponds by an unnamed individual, who subsequently alerted local emergency services. A security perimeter has since been set up around the pond.
The Brussels Prosecutor's Office has been informed and has launched an investigation. The cause of the person's death is currently unknown.
