A fire broke out on Wednesday night in the Ougrêye district of Seraing (Liège Province) at the Renewi waste plant, according to Liège firefighters.
The Fire House received the call for an explosion and fire in Seraing around 22:00 on Wednesday. Seraing Police and Liège firefighters quickly responded to the scene with a dozen vehicles. The roads were closed as a precaution.
According to Seraing police, the situation was quickly brought under control, and roads have reopened.
The causes are unknown for the moment. Liège firefighters are involved in a number of different rescues across the region because of the bad weather.
