The Colruyt Group has completed the acquisition of the delicatessen chain Delitraiteur, which operates about forty stores in Belgium and Luxembourg.

According to a press release on Monday, this change will hardly affect customers. The acquisition concluded after receiving approval from the Competition Authority in mid-May. Delitraiteur will be fully integrated into Colruyt Group’s consolidated figures from June.

Delitraiteur was purchased from Louis Delhaize. Colruyt reiterated on Monday that the delicatessen chain is "complementary" to its other offerings.

The acquisition will allow Colruyt Group to expand its convenient food offerings, including ready-to-heat and ready-to-eat meals, and marks a significant step in urban growth.

Founded in 1990, Delitraiteur includes forty shops in Belgium and one in Luxembourg, offering products like sandwiches, salads, and ready-to-eat meals.

Nearly all stores are independently operated and will continue under the same brand name. Both the management and employees will remain in their current roles.
