70 out of the 100 chefs featured at the upcoming Streat Fest will take part for the first time.

The Brussels food festival which highlights reimagined street food and urban arts is set to occur from 16 to 19 May at Tour & Taxis. It will include third edition newcomers such as Paul Delrez (a top influencer chef), Jean-Philippe Watteyne of ‘La ferme de Bonne Maman’, Lyla Bangels from ‘Titulus’ and the renowned ‘terroir’-focused chef, Florent Ladeyn, of ‘Auberge du Vert Mont’ and ‘Klok’.

“Today, we transition from a chip stall to a gourmet restaurant, and I thoroughly enjoy working with these different food service formats,” Florent Ladeyn said at a press conference.

Recurrent participants include Alex Joseph from ‘Cantina Valentina’, cookie baker Martha Meeze, Nathan Urbanowiez of ‘Sanzaru’, and Simona El-Harar from ‘Kitchen 151’.

Festival-goers not only get to explore the different food stands, but also have access to 150 culinary and urban art workshops, 40 concerts featuring artists such as Doowy, Bart Kobain, Olivier Gosseries, Nephtys, and OK Panda, as well as masterclasses.

Since the festival’s inaugural edition in 2022, the number of participating chefs has doubled from 50 to 100 and the event has nearly doubled in size, now covering 9,000 square metres within Tour & Taxis.

“After the Covid crisis, we wanted to launch something special in Brussels, the capital of Europe. I think we can say today that it’s a successful gamble,” Terry Vermandel, director behind the event said.

Entrance is priced at €12 in advance and €14 on the gate, with the food pricing at between €3 and €6 per portion.
