Almost 30 castles across Wallonia are set to open to the public on Wednesday as part of the fourth edition of 'Family Castle Life', according to an announcement from the Walloon Heritage Agency.

The day will see free entry and all-day access to guided tours and fun activities in 28 breathtaking Belgian castles.

Families can partake in a variety of activities, including observation and challenging games suitable for children aged 3 to 5 and treasure hunts for 6 to 12-year-olds. These have been organised by the Museums and Societies in Wallonia association.

The German-speaking community of Ostbelgien is also joining the 'Family Castle Life' programme for the second consecutive year.

Information about open castles and the offered activities can be found on the Heritage Days website, along with a downloadable brochure. Although all activities are free, some require a reservation with organisers. Find more information here.
