"Good Move is a failure," announced Ahmed Laaouej, Mayor of Koekelberg who heads the PS list for the Brussels-Capital Region. He called on Tuesday for a complete overhaul of the urban mobility plan in the region.
"Traffic jams are not the mark of a successful mobility plan" said Laaouej when interviewed on LN24 on Tuesday morning. "The Good Move plan needs to be completely overhauled," Laaouej added.
In his view, a good mobility plan should guarantee safety but also traffic flow and offer alternative transport.
Laaouej also expressed his favour for postponing the next deadlines to remove the most polluting vehicles from the streets of the capital, as has been done in Wallonia and Flanders.
"Not all families can afford to change their vehicles," the Socialist said, clarifying that another one or two years could be allowed before imposing the ban.
