Nearly 500 religious buildings in Belgium and Luxembourg will open to the public on 1 and 2 June as part of the 'Open Church Days', organisers announced in a press release on Thursday.

This 17th edition of the event carried the theme: 'A Wink at the Impossible'. "We can contemplate the impossible if it holds meaning for us. Where there is dialogue or reflection, the impossible becomes possible," the Open Church Network commented on their website.

A range of activities including harp concerts, escape games, film screenings, psychomotor skill courses, and creative workshops will take place at the event.

These are designed to allow curious individuals – whether religious or not – to rediscover the country's rich religious heritage and breathe new life into these public buildings.

The complete programme can be found on the Open Church Network's website.
