The third Nepali Food Festival is set to take place this weekend in Leuven on 25 May, 2024.

The annual event, which is organised by the Nepalese Businessmen’s Association Belgium (NEBAB), in collaboration with the Embassy of Nepal in Brussels, will transform the Monseigneur Ladeuzeplein square into a bustling hub of authentic Nepali cuisine, culture, and tourism, between 12 noon to 8 pm on Saturday 25 May.

Visitors to the festival will be able to indulge in a diverse array of Nepali foods from over 20 different stalls, offering an authentic taste of Nepal.

Additionally, typical Nepali beer and drinks will be available, providing a complete culinary experience.

The festival promises more than just food. Throughout the day, traditional Nepali cultural performances by talented artists will entertain and engage the crowd. There will also be stalls showcasing various Nepali products, adding to the cultural richness of the event.

Last year's edition of the Nepali Food Festival 2023 saw over 10,000 attendees.

In a bid to promote Nepali tourism, the festival will also feature several promotional activities, encouraging attendees to explore the beauty and heritage of Nepal. The event is expected to draw a significant number of Belgians and expatriates working in Belgium, making it a lively and multicultural celebration.

Reflecting on the previous year's success, which saw over 10,000 attendees, the organizers are optimistic about this year’s turnout.

The Ambassador of Nepal to Belgium and the EU,  Gahendra Rajbhandari, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "We would like to welcome everyone to experience authentic delicious Nepali foods and traditional cultural performances. Hope you will like the warmth and hospitality of Nepali people with their wide smiles. We believe this event will be an important bridge to bring our peoples closer with cultural exchanges."
