South African singer Tyla has cancelled her Couleur Café 2024 performance due to "unforeseen circumstances".

The Brussels festival announced the cancellation of the rising global Afropop artist on its social media pages and website on Friday.

"Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances Tyla will no longer be performing at Couleur Café. Tyla will communicate next week why she can't make it. We understand and share your disappointment."

The singer had already been forced to cancel much of her debut concert tour, which was scheduled to begin in March, up until early June. Her eponymous debut album was released in March.

Tyla had risen to international fame with the release of her 2023 single "Water", which entered the top 10 in sixteen countries including the United Kingdom and United States.

Her hit-single was the first song by a South African soloist to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 in 55 years and was also won a Grammy Award.

The festival has announced Dutch rapper Frenna has Tyla's replacement, who was due to grace the Red Stage on Friday for her debut in Brussels.
