Brussels police, at the request of the examining judge, are appealing to the public for information on an act of vandalism at the Falstaff café in August 2022.

The well-known Art Deco café, located in Brussels, adjacent to the Bourse, was vandalised on the evening of 24 August 2022 by a group of RSC Anderlecht supporters.

The incident was reported following a violent confrontation between the Anderlecht fans and a group of Swiss supporters on the eve of a European cup match between the Brussels team and the Young Boys of Berne.

Five individuals, suspected of inflicting significant damage at the café, are being sought by the police. One is described as robustly built and wearing dark clothes and cap on the evening in question.

Another was of similar build, with dark hair and was spotted wearing glasses and black shorts with white stripes. A third individual, dark in complexion, with shaved hair and a goatee, was seen wearing a red shirt.

A fourth person, with robust build and dark hair, was wearing a black shirt and a black sweatshirt. Slimmer in comparison, the fifth individual sported a beard, a black cap and a black shirt.

After the violence, a group of Anderlecht fans had donated up to €7,000 in a fundraising campaign to replay the damages inflicted to Le Falstaff café.

Anyone who recognises one or more of these individuals is urged to report to the police at avisderecherche@police.belgium.eu or via a toll-free telephone number, 0800/30.300.

The appeal for information can also be accessed at www.police.be.
