The Smile, the side project of Radiohead musicians Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, has cancelled its tour, according to an Instagram post.
The British band announced via social media that Greenwood had fallen seriously ill. He was rushed to hospital and temporarily admitted to intensive care due to an infection.
“Thankfully, he is out of danger and will be returning home soon,” the band added. Their medical team urged the cancellation of all upcoming engagements to allow a full recovery, resulting in the cancellation of The Smile’s European tour.
The band was originally scheduled to perform at Pukkelpop festival on Sunday, August 18. However, the concert still remains listed on the festival’s official website despite the cancellation.
