SNCB will boost its train services to and from the coast from Thursday to Saturday due to anticipated warm weather, the company announced on Thursday.
Eight additional trains are to be deployed to Ostend and Blankenberge stations on both Thursday and Friday to manage increased passenger numbers. On Saturday, this will rise to 22 extra trains in operation.
Passengers are advised to check the journey planner on the SNCB website or mobile app, which also provides the expected crowd size for the chosen train.
Visitors may have to wait at stations before boarding a train with enough seating space. As such, they are encouraged to avoid travelling during peak hours. The Belgian railway operator also advises passengers to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated during their journey.
