Princess Elisabeth, the heir to the Belgian throne, will graduate from Oxford University on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old royal has just completed a Bachelor's degree in History and Politics from Lincoln College. The graduation ceremony will take place at Oxford's Sheldonian Theatre, where King Philippe and Queen Mathilde will be present along with the Crown Princess' siblings Prince Emmanuel and Princess Eléonore.

The graduation does not mark the end of Princess Elisabeth's academic pursuits. She will commence studies at Harvard University in Boston, the US, in late August, where she will undertake a Master's degree in Public Policy.

The course will last two years. According to the Palace, the Princess was selected for an 'Honorary Award' from the Fullbright Program, the US Department of State's international educational exchange programme.

Elisabeth's cousin Joachim (son of Astrid and Lorenz) has already studied at Harvard while her father, King Philippe, studied political science at Stanford.

A recent Monarchy Barometer revealed that the majority of Belgians (65%) believe at least ten years should pass until the Princess succeeds to the throne while recording generally positive attitudes toward the young princess and her parents' execution of their royal duties.
