Temperatures in Belgium are expected to reach 32°C in some areas on Tuesday. Code yellow for heat has been issued, meaning people should be vigilant to protect themselves.
Warm air is currently moving from Spain and southern France towards Belgium. As a result, Tuesday will be largely sunny with maximum temperatures ranging from 26°C at the coast to 32°C inland and in the north, the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) said.
In light of the higher temperatures, the RMI has issued code yellow for heat, which will remain in place all day. In particular, the RMI advises measures to protect the elderly and frail, such as ensuring they drink enough water and stay out of direct sunlight.
Tuesday night will remain largely dry with a chance of thunderstorms in the southeast and centre of the country. Wednesday morning will still start fairly sunny but clouds may appear during the day. Again, there is a chance of thunderstorms in the south. Maximum temperatures will be slightly cooler, between 26 and 29°C.

Later in the week, "Showers and thunderstorms may arrive from France," the RMI warned. Thursday and Friday will be changeable with a higher chance of showers and thunderstorms over the south of the country. Maximum temperatures of around 26°C are expected in the centre of the country.
A light rain zone is currently predicted on Saturday, with temperatures of 23 or 24°C in the centre. Sunday and Monday will remain slightly changeable with clearings and cloudy spells, but mostly dry with maximum temperatures around 23°C in the centre.
