The Hide & Seek Festival, offering music from all over the world in unusual venues across Brussels, is set to take place from 18 to 24 August.
The event, aiming to create unique experiences, features a host of artists performing in an eclectic mix of locations such as a converted church-turned-climbing hall, a cinema and a stained-glass workshop, to name but a few.
Around 20 concerts are scheduled, showcasing 12 artists, some of whom will deliver two performances a day.
The musical menu will be diverse, spanning from Helgeum's traditional South Korean music to Irish folk songs by duo Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta, various shades of jazz (3'Ain, Lara Rosseel & Nana Osei-Twum Barima), and even Sufi music (Jawa), among others.
The venues holding these artists are equally unconventional, including performances at the Autrique House – designed by Victor Horta, the Molenbeek funeral galleries, a mirror shop, an umbrella workshop, an art gallery, and even within the Coudenberg Palace.
In addition to the concerts, the festival will offer guided tours of some of these unique venues.
Complete programme details can be found on the Muziekpublique's website, which is organising the festival. Some concerts are already sold out.
