Beachgoers are likely to be drawn to the coast at the beginning of the week thanks to the sunny weather, with Belgium’s national train operator, SNCB, having confirmed additional train services for Monday and Tuesday.

Last week, the company increased routes to the coast and, with the weather holding steady, it is set to boost its service with four additional round trips to and from Ostend and Blankenberge stations.

The SNCB, however, advises its passengers to check the anticipated train occupancy via the company’s travel planner before setting out.

It warned that travellers may need to wait a bit before a train with an adequate number of seats becomes available. "Avoid peak times as much as possible," the company concluded.

The Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) forecasts temperatures between 21°C and 25°C on Monday, rising to a potential high of 28°C on Tuesday.
