British ‘male rights’ influencer, Andrew Tate, is once again under arrest in Romania in connection with a fresh investigation.

Tate (37) and his brother Tristan (36) were detained on Wednesday for a 24-hour period to be interrogated by the specialised department for combating organised crime, DIICOT, the department's spokeswoman revealed.

Earlier on Wednesday, DIICOT announced that prosecutors had issued “four search warrants” linked to the “offences of forming an organised criminal group, trafficking of minors, sexual relations with a minor, and money laundering.”

The prosecutors did not specify whether the warrants were for Tate and his brother, who are already suspected of deceiving several victims, including minors, for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

However, according to the spokeswoman, the brothers confirmed that a raid had been conducted on Wednesday morning at their residence as part of a search related to a new investigation linked to suspicions of human trafficking and money laundering.

The brothers were arrested towards the end of 2022 and spent three months in detention in Bucharest before being placed under judicial control with restrictions on leaving the country.

Charged in June 2023, they stand accused of entrapping women by feigning to love them before forcing them into posing for pornographic films. Andrew Tate also faces two rape charges.

While the brothers deny all allegations, they are also the subject of a European arrest warrant issued by UK authorities for similar charges.

In the UK, they are also accused of tax fraud, based on Internet activities earning roughly €25 million.

Though Bucharest has confirmed its willingness to extradite them, that would only happen after their trial in Romania, a process that could last years. No date has been set for the trial.

Born in the United States, Andrew Tate has been residing for years in a villa near Bucharest, Romania.

Banned from Instagram and TikTok for making misogynistic comments, the former professional kickboxer still has a following of 9.9 million on social media X, and that figure has been increasing steadily.

Sporting a muscular physique and smoking cigars, Tate fascinates millions of teenagers with his luxury vehicles. He earns his income by offering advice to men on how to become wealthy.
