Sunday marked the highest ever recorded temperature for a September 1st in Belgium, with the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) recording 31.3°C in Uccle.
Just before 3 pm, Meteorologist David Dehenauw noted a new record had been confirmed with 29.3 °C, surpassing the previous record of 29.2°C measured in 1906.
A few hours later, the thermometer hit 31.3°C, surpassing the 1906 record by two degrees, Dehenauw highlighted.
