Emergency services in the Vesdre-Hoëgne & Plateau region, Liège Province, responded to weather-related incidents on at least 10 separate occasions on Monday, following severe storms in the Verviers area.

The majority of the requests for assistance were for pumping out water and clearing roads, the emergency services said in a statement issued on Monday night.

Responders also went to the aid of a group of kayakers who found themselves in difficulty on the Amblève River in the Zone 5 WAL (Warche, Amblève, Lienne) area.
