Climate advocates, including the organisations Rise for Climate and Youth for Climate, are organising a climate march from Brussels-Central Station on Friday 20 September.
The groups aim to express their views through this march. They urge adherence to the Paris Agreement and the European Green Deal, reject austerity measures, refute a global warming hiatus as a rejection of the current climate crisis, and call for an end to government subsidies for fossil fuels.
The march around the city centre begins at 18:30, while concerts and speeches commence at 17:30.
Climate protests will be held globally on 20 September. The objective is to appeal to heads of state, who will meet for the UN summit on the planet’s future in New York on 22 and 23 September.
