The Belgian Federal Prosecutor’s Office and the Swiss canton of Geneva’s public prosecutor have launched an investigation into an armed robbery at Geneva Airport earlier this year.
This probe follows four suspects utilising a white Peugeot with Belgian licence plates during the incident. The victims have offered a one million dollar reward to whoever recovered the stolen goods.
The robbery occurred on Wednesday 28 February 2024. A white Peugeot 308, licence plate B-4560, was spotted around 14:00 on the airport premises, making repeated appearances in various car parks.
The car was filmed in the ‘P2-short duration’ car park at around 15:00, approached by an individual in a raincoat who opened the vehicle’s door.
The man stood in front of the car, followed swiftly by the Peugeot’s passengers, before the vehicle drove off, instantly blocking a taxi. The three men broke the taxi’s rear window, incapacitating passengers with tear gas, and stole two blue suitcases containing watches and jewellery, worth an estimated one million Swiss francs.
Million-dollar reward
The first suspect is thought to be in his thirties. Descriptions indicate average height and build, slightly tanned skin, and black hair. At the incident he wore black trousers, a beige hooded jacket, and black trainers with white soles.
The second suspect is notably tall and athletic and may also be in his thirties. He has a light skin tone and appeared either unshaven or with a few days’ stubble. He reportedly has a distinctive nose and was wearing dark clothing and a dark cap during the robbery.
The third suspect, presumably also in his thirties, is of average height and build. He has a light skin tone and was seen wearing a two-tone jacket – light beige at the bottom, darker on top. The Peugeot driver’s description remains unknown.
The vehicle used was a phase 1, white Peugeot 308 II, GT-line, with a modified hood and grille. Its Belgian plate number B-4560 was reportedly stolen by a tall, athletic individual with light skin.
The man wore a cap, blue at the back and white at the front, bearing the inscription ‘MOTORS RACING TEAM’ and a red visor. His outfit comprised a black hoodie with a pattern on the back, blue jeans, and black/red trainers. He was also seen in a black down jacket with a white hood.
