Passengers arriving at Brussels Airport from non-European Union countries are facing passport control delays of up to two hours.
The news was confirmed by the airport on Wednesday after reports of passengers complaining online about the waiting times for anyone arriving at the airport in Zaventem from outside of the EU.
The waiting times vary from one and a half to two hours for flights from non-Schengen areas, an airport spokesperson stated. This would also include countries like the United Kingdom.
This situation is not a first. Previous issues with passport control and heavy congestion have caused lengthy queues at the airport.
