Belgian clothing retailer Lolaliza confirmed on Friday that it has recently been the victim of a cyberattack, and customer data, as well as staff and company information, may be compromised. The company said an external malicious act infiltrated its IT system and accessed its databases.
“Despite numerous measures to ensure our systems’ security, we have fallen victim to a cyberattack. This has resulted in unauthorised access to some of our databases,” the management explained.
An investigation is ongoing, and the incident may involve both company data and some personal data of employees and customers, the company said.
“We are using cybersecurity experts to resolve the issue and restore normal operations as quickly as possible,” management added.
Despite the breach, the company's physical stores and online shop will remain open as it works on a resolution.
The company started notifying customers on Thursday, where consent to be contacted was previously given, and contact details are known. “Our top priority is to protect our customers’ and employees’ data, and to restore our central system,” management reassured.
