The average amount paid for electricity and natural gas by an average family in Flanders rose in September to its highest level this year, according to figures released on Friday by Flemish energy regulator VREG.
The average annual price for electricity, for persons who signed their contract in September, increased from €1,170 in August to €1,201 in September, its highest level since January.
For natural gas, the average annual price for September contracts rose from €1,451 in August to €1,506 in September. This was the highest price since December 2023.
