Nearly one-third of Belgians (31%) work from home at least one day a week, down slightly from 33% last year.

Thanks to remote working, 34 million kilometres are avoided daily, including 16 million kilometres by car, according to the BeMob survey by the Federal Public Service Mobility and Transport.

Brussels residents telework more regularly, with 45% working from home at least one day a week, compared to 26% of Walloons and 32% of Flemings.

Most remote workers telework one to two days a week, preferring Wednesday (44%) and Friday (52%).

The survey also notes that the farther the distance between home and workplace, the greater the proportion of teleworkers. Beyond 50 kilometres, nearly 60% work from home at least one day a week.

Conducted between August 2023 and July 2024, the survey polled over 4,000 Belgian workers.
