After a mainly dry and sunny weekend, conditions will change this week. On Monday afternoon, the western half of Belgium can expect local showers. The east will mostly remain dry.
Temperatures will range from 16 to 20°C. In the evening, showers will primarily fall in the west and northwest. Overnight will be mostly dry with occasional clear spells. Later on, showers will move over Belgium's elevated regions. Minimum temperatures will range between 9 and 12°C, according to the Royal Meteorological Institute (KMI).
On Tuesday morning, there will be local showers over Belgium's higher regions while the rest of the country will remain predominantly dry with clouds and some clear spells. By late morning, the chance of showers increases in the west and along the French border. In the afternoon conditions will be mostly cloudy with showers expected across the country. Most rainfall is expected in the Ardennes and Belgian Lorraine. Maximum temperatures will range from 14°C in the High Fens to 19°C in the Campine. Moderate south-southwesterly winds will shift west-southwesterly. At the coast, the wind will sometimes be quite strong from the south-southwest, shifting west-northwest.
Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with showers or periods of rain, and the possibility of some thunder. Temperatures will reach between 13 and 17°C with a generally moderate south to southwesterly wind and gusts of up to 55 km/h.
After an active rain zone passes through the country on Wednesday night, Thursday will see a mix of clear spells and showers, with a chance of localized thunderstorms. Maximum temperatures will range between 15 and 19°C. A moderate to sometimes quite strong south-southwesterly wind will bring gusts of around 60 km/h.
Friday will be mostly cloudy with more rain and showers. It will be cool with maximum temperatures ranging from 11 to 16°C. Strong winds are expected, potentially with gusts between 70 and 80 km/h.
