One of Brussels' most famous concert venues, Ancienne Belgique (commonly referred to in the country as the "AB"), is launching a student discount to "contribute to an inclusive cultural landscape in Brussels".

Brussels has a thriving music scene, with venues big and small dotted across the region, each bringing a vibrant mix of music genres to the table. However, in recent years, the prices of concert tickets have risen significantly, which can result in people with lower incomes being excluded.

To tackle this issue specifically for students, who are increasingly struggling financially, Ancienne Belgique has launched a discount specifically for students to "make culture more accessible". People with a valid student ID can enjoy a 20% discount on concert tickets at AB.

"With the student discount, we want to respond to the needs of students who often have to live on a limited budget, but still want to enjoy the rich music culture Brussels has to offer," said AB director Tom Bonte.

"We know how important it is for students to connect through music, and we hope that this discount removes a barrier for those who might not otherwise be able to attend concerts."

The venue also wants to contribute to an inclusive cultural landscape in Brussels.

To benefit from the discount, students can create an AB account and register as a student with a valid student card. The discount is valid for all concerts in AB. Importantly, students who use the discount must present their student card when attending concerts.
