The VDAB, together with Aviato, the employment centre for Brussels Airport, is hosting the 'JOBOP' fair in Vilvoorde on Thursday 3 October.
Around 100 employers and training partners will present their job offers to prospective candidates, with approximately 1,500 visitors are expected to attend.
Eleven municipalities will also participate: Zaventem, Wezembeek-Oppem, Kraainem, Kortenberg, Vilvoorde, Machelen, Grimbergen, Kampenhout, Kapelle-op-den-Bos, Steenokkerzeel, and Zemst. Last year’s JOBOP attracted over 1,000 job seekers. This year, similar numbers, if not more, are expected.
In the past 12 months, over 10,000 vacancies have been reported in the Vilvoorde region. As of 31 August this year, there were 1,949 open positions.
The most demanded jobs in the region, besides airport-related roles, include security guards, domestic cleaners, retail salespeople, and teachers for nursery, primary, and secondary education.
A hundred employers and training centres will highlight their job opportunities and training programmes. Aviato will focus on airport vacancies.
The fair will take place from 11:00 to 16:30 at the VDAB training centre, Cyriel Buyssestraat 15, Vilvoorde.
