On Sunday, 193 companies in Flanders open their doors to the public for the 34th Voka Open Day.

This year’s theme is “Growing Together, Working Together, Innovating Sustainably Together.”

Noteworthy participants include Circuit Zolder, construction group Aertssen, air traffic controller Skeyes, and the new headquarters of the Antwerp Police.

The event features companies from various sectors, including agriculture and healthcare, offering tours, presentations, and workshops.

Event importance

Inge Claerhout, the event director, emphasised the significance of showcasing Flanders’ strong and innovative entrepreneurship to the public. She highlighted the event as the largest job fair in Flanders, providing an excellent opportunity to discover future workplaces.

Nine cities, municipalities, or business zones will be highlighted as “hotspots”: Deinze, Dendermonde, Geel-Meerhout, Ostend, Oostkamp, Roeselare, Sint-Katelijne-Waver, Tienen, and Logistics Valley Flanders Genk.

The latter, established on the former Ford Genk site, will demonstrate developments in the 100-hectare area and the 430-metre quay along the Albert Canal, now a multimodal business zone.
