OpenAI, the American artificial intelligence company known for creating ChatGPT, announced on Wednesday via X that it will open an office in Brussels.

In addition to Brussels, new offices will be established in Paris, Seattle, New York, and Singapore.

Existing offices in San Francisco, London, Dublin, and Tokyo will be expanded. OpenAI has already begun the recruitment process.

It is likely that the US company chose Brussels due to it being the home of the EU institutions. Meanwhile, Paris and London are well-known technological innovation hubs, and Singapore is expected to serve as the company's Asia hub.

OpenAI recently raised $6.6 billion in capital from investors, valuing the company at $157 billion, further solidifying its status as a Silicon Valley star and a key player in generative artificial intelligence.
