Belgium's Pro League has extended to 31 October the invitation to tender for broadcasting rights to Belgian professional football between 2025 and 2030.

Normally, the deadline had been set for Wednesday 16 October, but ‘at the request of certain market players, two weeks have been added, the Pro League announced.

Currently, the rights are held exclusively by DAZN, previously known as Eleven, which paid €103 million for the contract in 2020. DAZN, in turn, sold the rights to mainstream TV channels.

This time around, the Pro League is modifying certain aspects of the contract. Radio licences, which until now have been royalty-free, may now also be put out to tender, and there are exclusive and non-exclusive packages. It is therefore possible that all the professional matches will not go to a single rights holder, but will be split between several.

In the Challenger Pro League, the second division, which has not been widely watched in recent years, all matches will be played on Fridays with a multi-live system that will switch between the different games.

Women's football is also included, with at least one match per month broadcast free of charge.

Last week, the Pro League announced that from the 2025-2026 season, it will partner with data companies to collect information on all the leagues and present it in an interesting way. This innovation also aims to add value to the TV rights deal by making the content even more entertaining.
