For the fifth consecutive year, Lotte Kopecky has won the Kristallen Fiets (Crystal Bike) awarded by Het Laatste Nieuws daily for the best Belgian cyclist of the year.
The Belgian and world champion cemented her status as the top favourite on Tuesday evening in Kruisem, East Flanders.
Kopecky, 28, secured 1,002 points from a professional jury, outpacing season revelation Justine Ghekiere (788) and the retiring Sanne Cant (264).
Margot Vanpachtenbeke (208) and Marthe Truyen (140) completed the top five.
The jury included cycling journalists, former laureates, federation members, coaches, and Belgian cycling stalwarts.
For Kopecky, 2024 was a memorable season, one in which she won 16 road victories.
Highlights included her triumph in Paris-Roubaix, dual Belgian titles, and Olympic bronze in the Paris road race.
She also claimed the European time trial title in Hasselt and a new world road title in Zurich.
Additionally, she secured wins in the Strade Bianche, Nokere Koerse, UAE Tour, Tour of Britain, Tour de Romandie, and Simac Ladies Tour.
On the track, she became a double European champion in the elimination and points races.
Kopecky is currently preparing for the track cycling World Championships in Ballerup, Denmark, starting on Wednesday.
The Kristallen Fiets for women has been awarded since 2016, with Jolien D’Hoore winning the first two editions.
Nicky Degrendele won in 2018, followed by Sanne Cant in 2019.
Since 2020, Kopecky has remained the unrivalled champion.
