At least 12 killed in station canopy collapse in Serbia

At least 12 people were killed on Friday in the collapse of part of a canopy at a railway station in the city of Novi Sad, northern Serbia.

The updated death toll was reported by Serbia’s interior minister, Ivica Dacic.

“Twelve bodies have been found so far,” the minister said on Serbia’s public broadcaster, RTS.”Twelve people have thus lost their lives.”

An earlier assessment had mentioned eight deaths.
