Cirque du Soleil is returning to Belgium in 2025 with a reimagined version of its renowned show 'Alegria: A New Day', the organisation announced on Monday.

The original world premiere of this "classic" by the Quebec-based company was in 1994. The show captivated millions until 2013, with over 14 million tickets sold in 255 cities worldwide. It was then entirely reinvented in 2019 by Italian-Belgian director Franco Dragone to mark its 25th anniversary.

In this new version, 54 acrobats, clowns, musicians and singers will breathe new life into the performance, much to the delight of contemporary circus enthusiasts. The organisation promises the audience will be thrilled by the troupe's acrobatic feats and charmed by familiar melodies and imaginary characters.

The company will perform from 25 July to 24 August in Knokke-Heist (West Flanders) and from 11 September to 19 October in Brussels.

Tickets will go on sale at 10:00 on Friday 8 November on the company's official website.
