The body of a four-year-old boy was found with a cut throat at a house in Berloz, Liège on Saturday night.

The mother has since been arrested. The news was first reported by Sudinfo on Sunday, and later confirmed by the mayor of Berloz and the Liège Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The events took place during the night from Saturday to Sunday in a house in Berloz. An argument had broken out between the boy’s parents, but without violence, said Mayor of Berloz Béatrice Moureau.

Later that night, the mother left the house. The father subsequently found the body of his four-year-old son, with his throat cut.

"The mother was arrested in another police zone," said another mayor. The Liege Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened a murder investigation.
