Seventeen communal councils elected on 13 October are to be officially installed in Brussels on Sunday.
The first five, those of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, Auderghem, Berchem Sainte Agathe, Anderlecht, and Jette were officially inaugurated on Sunday morning without any significant issues.
Woluwe-Saint-Lambert began the proceedings with veteran Mayor Olivier Maingain (DéFI), reappointed to his position, in a three-hour session. During this session, the mayor personally acknowledged each outgoing councillor before the new council and executive board were declared.
Following this, Ariane Calmeyn (LB) was appointed as the president of the council.
The new councillors swiftly selected their representatives for the Montgomery police council.
In Anderlecht, the official installation session of the council and executive board lasted just one hour without any incidents. Gaëtan Van Goidsenhoven (MR) was appointed as council president.
The election for representatives to the Brussels Midi police council will take place on 9 December.
