The Cactus Festival in Bruges has announced its first headliner: The Black Keys. The American duo will close the second festival day on 12 July.
The 42nd edition of the festival will take place in the Minnewaterpark in the Bruges city centre from 11 to 13 July. The organisation promises to announce more names soon.
"With their vintage-sounding but timeless take on blues rock, the duo effortlessly transcended the pack of garage rock bands from the nillies," the organisation said.
For their latest album ‘Ohio Players’ (2024), The Black Keys worked intensively with Beck, one of their earliest supporters. Noel Gallagher, cult-hip-hop producer Dan The Automator, rappers Juicy J and Lil Noid as well as Leon Michels of El Michels Affair also contributed.
Tickets for the festival go on pre-sale at 10:00 on Saturday 14 December.
