A lorry driver has lost his life after colliding with a train in the area around the Port of Antwerp, according to Federal Police.
The collision occurred at around 04:30 on Tuesday morning at a level crossing on Ordamstraat. The level crossing had no barriers but was equipped with flashing lights, which is common in the port area.
A traffic expert has been sent to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident.
The lorry caught fire following the collision. Firefighters and investigators are expected to be on-site for several hours. Police are advising people to avoid the area.
