Brussels Mobility Minister Elke Van den Brandt tested positive for coronavirus, she announced on Twitter on Monday evening.
"I just received the news that I tested positive for corona. I was already in quarantine so I will continue to work from home. Be careful and take care of yourself and others", the Minister tweeted.

Van den Brandt is the latest in a series of Brussels officials to test positive for coronavirus, including finance minister Sven Gatz and Minister-President Rudi Vervoort.
Saint-Josse mayor Emir Kir also entered quarantine on Monday after having been in close contact with someone who tested positive for the virus.

Brussels has counted 27,255 confirmed cases in total since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, according to data from Sciensano, and has had an incidence of 801 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days.
That is nearly double the incidence at a national level of 422.6 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
