Dozens of unique locations across Brussels, including the Bourse and Ancienne Belgique, will once again transform into study spaces for students ahead of the winter exams.

For many students, the exam period is a tedious one, especially as in Belgium, the exams fall after Christmas. Student service Brik has for 12 years worked with many Brussels organisations to cheer hard-working students up by offering unique study spaces throughout the region.

"Studying together not only creates an effective working atmosphere but also gives students a sense of community and motivation," Tessa Derden, project manager at Brik, said in a press release. "In addition, studying at home is not natural for everyone due to limited space, roommates or high energy costs."

This term, 39 study locations with more than 1,000 places are available to students. These include familiar places such as the Bourse and concert venue Ancienne Belgique, located in the city centre.

However, new locations have also been added, including the children's petting farm Het Neerhof on the outskirts of Brussels, offering a green environment and free soup at lunchtime. Studying is also possible at the Infrabel Academy in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, located above a metro line and next to a busy railway line. Staff here also offer insight into working life in the company in the hope of attracting new talent post-graduation.

Another unique location includes the Girls Club in Etterbeek (boys are welcome too, the girly refers to the interior design). Anyone studying here will have a chance to win a duo ticket for a ‘Paint & Relax’ or ‘Paint Your Tote Bag’ session worth €50.

Brik's study places are open from 9 to 31 December, although opening hours and days vary from place to place. All venues are equipped with wifi, plenty of power points, free coffee, and sometimes relaxing activities. All the available locations can be discovered on Brik's website.
