A Dutch influencer known as ISAE has been detained in Belgium after allegedly setting fire to his luxury German car in an apartment building in Hasselt.

Authorities suspect the influencer attempted insurance fraud, and an investigation is ongoing, according to Het Belang van Limburg on Tuesday.

Four people have been detained in connection with the investigation. Yasser G, better known as ISAE, is considered the mastermind behind the stunt, reportedly giving orders to others. He enlisted a 23-year-old man from Lokeren to help recruit individuals for the task.

Two 22-year-olds from Antwerp were then hired to set fire to Yasser G.’s flashy car. The incident occurred on 29 November, when emergency services responded to reports of a fire in an apartment building in Hasselt.

In the building’s garage, they found a blazing Mercedes AMG GT 53, which caused extensive damage. Other residents’ cars were also damaged by the fire, smoke, and water that leaked for hours from a broken pipe.

Due to smoke fumes, the entire building, including a penthouse rented by the Dutch YouTuber, remains uninhabitable.
