The body of Dries De Graeve, a 29-year-old man from Ghent who went missing at the end of November in Morocco, has been found, his family announced on social media on Tuesday.

De Graeve disappeared during a trip to Taghazout, a surf town north of Agadir.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the body of Dries has been found in the mountains near Agadir. We are immensely grateful for the work of the authorities, as well as for the support and participation in search operations by friends and family during this painful time,” the statement read. The family has requested privacy and will not make any further comments.

Friends last saw Dries on the night of 18 November. He appeared confused and agitated. He was reportedly last seen in Taghazout on the night of 20 November.
