European Startup Prize for Mobility kicks off in Monaco

The European Startup Prize for Mobility (EUSP) held its 6th edition's Opening Ceremony last month on November 13, 2024, in Monaco, with the event broadcast by The Brussels Times.

Founded by Karima Delli, former Chairwoman of the European Parliament's Transport Committee, in collaboration with BCG and Via ID, the EUSP continues to connect Europe’s leading sustainable mobility startups with investors, policymakers, and industry leaders. Under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the ceremony highlighted innovative solutions at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and transport.

A Catalyst for Innovation

EUSP has established itself as a springboard for startups, helping them scale solutions across Europe to address environmental and social challenges. With the European Green Deal targeting carbon neutrality by 2050, startups play a crucial role in delivering scalable, sustainable solutions.

This year’s edition attracted support from key partners, including Ayvens, the European Investment Bank (EIB), Europcar, Brisa Group, MasterCard, ADP, Europe's Rail, and Nevomo, alongside the European Commission and the European Parliament. Their involvement underscores the Prize’s importance in fostering cooperation and positioning Europe as a leader in sustainable mobility.

Highlights of the Ceremony

The event brought together prominent figures from politics, business, and academia. European Parliament Vice President Younous Omarjee participated, and a recorded message from Executive Vice President Maroš Šefčovič reflected high-level EU endorsement.

Keynote speeches, expert panels, and the announcement of the top startups selected for the acceleration program were the ceremony’s highlights. These startups represent cutting-edge solutions, including electric and autonomous vehicles, shared mobility platforms, and green logistics technologies.

From Monaco to Europe

In collaboration with DG GROW and the Polish EU Presidency, the closing ceremony will take place during EU Industry Day in Rzeszów in 2025, reflecting the Prize’s pan-European reach. Beyond the ceremonies, winners benefit from mentorship, networking, and visibility before investors and policymakers, furthering their potential to drive sustainable change.

Applications Still Open

Though the Opening Ceremony has concluded, applications for the 6th edition remain open. Startups across Europe are invited to apply, seizing the opportunity to accelerate growth and contribute to a greener future.

The Brussels Times, as a media partner, will provide continued coverage, including exclusive interviews and updates, as the competition progresses toward its finale in Rzeszów next year. Stay tuned for more on this journey shaping the future of European mobility.
