Brussels Airport is expecting more than one million passengers during the winter (Christmas) holidays, which would be an all-time record, airport authorities announced on Wednesday.
The previous record for this period dates back to the 2019 Christmas holidays, when the airport welcomed 988,000 passengers.
Friday 20 December, which marks the start of the holidays, is set to be the busiest day, with 72,000 travellers expected, including 40,000 departing passengers.
Last year, 850,000 passengers travelled through the national airport for the winter holidays.
