The Mons train station, which opened on 18 December, was the scene of an assault at around 04:00 on Sunday morning, according to the Mons-Tournai Public Prosecutor's Office.
The violent robbery targeted minors. The assailants threatened their victims with a taser and searched them. They stole two mobile phones.
The attackers fled by train and are now being actively sought by authorities. The railway police have taken over the investigation. Surveillance camera footage is being analysed to identify the perpetrators.
The new Mons station closes shortly after the last train and reopens before the first train, from 01:00 to 04:00.
