Belgium’s acting Foreign Minister, liberal Bernard Quintin, is in Turkey on Thursday for a bilateral meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan.
This marks the first meeting between the two ministers. One of the key topics on the agenda is the situation in Syria.
Last month, Bashar al-Assad’s regime was overthrown by rebels led by the radical Sunni Islamist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).
The ministers will also discuss the relations between Belgium and Turkey. This information comes from the office of Minister Quintin.
