The human resources department of the Belgian railways operator SNCB confirmed on Monday that train services will be disrupted on Monday, 13 January due to a strike.
SNCB and Infrabel are preparing an adjusted rail service based on non-striking staff. The adapted transport plan will be announced on Saturday and will be available on SNCB’s online journey planner from Sunday.
The railway unions have filed a 24-hour strike notice effective from 22:00 on 12 January. This strike notice applies to SNCB, Infrabel, and HR Rail, allowing union members to join a pension-related protest.
A day of action and a demonstration are planned for 13 January in front of the "pension tower" in Brussels. All employees of the Belgian railways are invited to join this strike notice, HR Rail confirmed in a statement on Monday.
