The carsharing service Cambio expanded into 25 additional Belgian municipalities in 2024.

Cambio is a carsharing company that operates in Germany and Belgium. The service is now available across 147 Belgian cities and municipalities, it announced on Wednesday.

Aalter (east Flanders), Kraainem (Flemish Brabant), Braine-le-Comte (Hainaut) and Sint-Truiden (Limburg) are among those who now have access to Cambio vehicles.

In 2024, there were 1.1 million reservations made. The platform is particularly prevalent in Flanders and Brussels.

A survey by Cambio revealed that 44% of users got rid of their personal cars after joining the platform.

"Each shared vehicle replaces up to 13 private cars, freeing up space in our streets and contributing to more environmentally-friendly mobility," the company stated.

Cambio has been active in Belgium since 2002 and now has 71,500 users.
