Lufthansa Group plans to hire around 10,000 new employees this year, including 360 for its subsidiary Brussels Airlines.
Half of the new hires at Brussels Airlines will be flight attendants. The airline is also looking for over 60 airport staff, 50 pilots, 45 maintenance workers, and about 20 office employees, according to spokesperson Nico Cardone.
These recruitments are essential to support the airline’s growth, which includes adding one long-haul aircraft and one for the European network this year. Brussels Airlines currently employs over 3,500 people.
The total number of recruitments for the entire Lufthansa Group, which includes airlines like Swiss, Austrian Airlines, and Eurowings, as well as maintenance company Lufthansa Technik, is significantly lower than the 13,000 hires in 2023. Lufthansa itself will hire fewer people due to a cost-saving programme.
The German aviation group is seeking over 2,000 stewards and stewardesses, around 1,300 technical staff, and 800 pilots. More than half of these hires will be based in Germany. As of now, the group employs over 100,000 people across more than ninety countries.
